Camila Costa
Camila joined the Women Win team in September of 2024 as an intern in the Equity and Inclusion in Sports (EQUIS) team. Camila is a Brazilian, currently based in Leuven, Belgium, pursuing an Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters in Sports Ethics and Integrity at KU Leuven. She has a background in Physical Education, having experience with teaching at schools and in other health and leisure environments, and also as an Ultimate Frisbee coach. Camila is a volunteer of the Women in Sport Committee of the World Flying Disc Federation as the Latin America representative. Through her internship at Women Win at the EQUIS team, she has the opportunity to continue learning on her journey to Equity advocacy by expanding women’s rights through the power of sports. She believes sports are political and can shape cultures, shaping women’s empowerment and leadership, and opening up spaces and opportunities to all types of diversity.
Even though Camila enjoys lots of different sports and exercise activities (especially Ultimate Frisbee and Capoeira), you can find her always looking for flight ticket sales (now train ticket sales) to go on a next adventure, especially involving nature or different cultures. She is deeply in love with her country and her language (Portuguese), but she also enjoys speaking in Spanish as a third language option. For her, it’s a hobby to learn different words in other languages, meet people from other nationalities, and try out different foods. You can always invite her to grab a coffee and chocolate (perfect combination) or an ice cream (even in winter).
