NUK has also been supported by Women Win to conduct an extensive research project, interviewing stakeholders across sectors on the status of sport for girls in Bangladesh. As a result, it has successfully influenced the government to approve gender training for all female leadership and decision-making positions in the 64 district offices, and women's wings are being started in each sports federation, an element notably absent in the past.
Women Win sees NUK as a valuable partner in its learning about effective advocacy approaches on local and national levels and in increasing the number of sports for women's rights programs. Additionally, their experience with gender-based violence is being tapped for guideline development. Founder Mashuda Khatun Shefali has been an ASHOKA fellow since 1992. The International Working Group on Women and Sport (IWG) has been a co-partner with Women Win since 2008 in supporting the work of NUK.
