AFESCO
AFESCO works with teenage girls and young women living in refugee camps in Goma, DRC Congo. These girls and women have all been displaced from their homes and are survivors of violence and discrimination of all kinds. With coaching advice from the Rwandan organization AKWOS, AFESCO initiated a project in 2008 with 50 adolescent girls, teaching football skills and establishing education about women's rights, overcoming trauma and peace reconciliation.
