Based in Pretoria, Altus Sport aims to accelerate the dissemination of successful ideas and programmes, while encouraging innovation, local ownership and entrepreneurship. The organisation stimulates youth empowerment through sport, with a special emphasis on empowering girls. Altus Sport also establishes youth sport leader forums in townships and builds the young leaders capacity through monthly workshops on topics such as CV writing, public speaking, body language, interviews, event management, entrepreneurship, branding, etc. The youth sport leaders then go back to their communities where they implement sport and life skills activities with youth in the townships.
In 2015, Women Win partnered with Altus Sport to implement the Goal Programme with adolescent girls in Mamelodi, Soshanguve, Hammanskraal, Stinkwater, Jakkalsdans, Penville, Temba and Mabopane. By December 2015, the organisation had reached over 1000 girls through sport and life skills programming. In 2016, Women Win and Altus will continue to expand the Goal Programme in Pretoria with a particular focus on strengthening the work of the female youth sport leaders.
