Carina Hamaker studied law and started her career as a financial analyst. In 1990 she joined Koninklijke Ahold as an Investor Relations Officer. In 1994 she became a partner at Citigate First Financial, the leading financial communications consultancy in the Netherlands. During her career she advised companies on numerous issues such as IPO’s, (hostile) takeovers, crisis communication and regular investor relations and financial PR programs. Clients include Royal Ahold, CSM, Dutch Railways, Koninklijke Boskalis Westminster, Stork N.V. and many others. Since leaving Citigate First Financial in 2002 she has worked as an independent consultant and advises the management of both listed and non-listed companies on their communication strategy. Furthermore she is a member of the board of the School for the Arts in Utrecht and a member of the Supervisory Board of the Koninklijke Jaarbeurs Utrecht.
